Iron Maiden is coming to Budapest and sends a message to Hungarian fans

This April, Iron Maiden had to postpone the 2021 June & July dates on the Legacy of the Beast Tour, including their concert in Budapest, due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on global live events and travel. However, they will compensate fans and return to Hungary for the 14th time.

Founded by bassist Steve Harris in the mid-1970s, Iron Maiden became one of  “heavy metal’s brightest hopes” by the 1980s when they released their third album (and first with vocalist Bruce Dickinson) The Number Of The Beast. With over 100 million record sales, more than 2000 live performances in 63 countries, tens of millions of fans, and 17 studio albums, the band have earned their proudly held status as one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time.

Iron Maiden released their 17th studio album titled Senjutsu in September this year. You can watch the band’s latest music video for “The Writing On The Wall” from this album below.

Legacy of the Beast Tour

Since the launch of the Legacy of the Beast World Tour in 2018, about two million fans had the opportunity to see the heavy metal legends. The last concert of the tour was in October 2019 in Chile, and then the coronavirus pandemic turned the world upside down. The band had to cancel and postpone numerous shows, including their concert in the Philippines, Japan, Copenhagen, Wiener Neustadt, Austria, Germany, and Dubai.

The tour has already received outstanding critical acclaim, not only from the over three-quarters of a million fans who came to see the show but also from the national press and the rock industry, writes Index. For example, the Times called the tour

“an extraordinary show filled with world-class theatrics…a masterclass in performance and staging.”

Ed Sheeran and Imagine Dragons to perform at the MTV EMA Awards in Budapest

Today, the band has added two new headline shows to the European Legacy of the Beast 2022 Summer Tour.

On 1 June 2022, the metal legends will perform at the VTB Arena in Moscow and on 7 June at the Groupama Aréna in Budapest.

According to the band’s official website, the special guests will be Lord of The Lost at both shows, Airbourne in Moscow, and Shinedown in Budapest.

Tickets go on sale on 15 November.

Iron Maiden in Hungary

Since their first concert in 1984, when they played for almost 50,000 fans in the parking lot of the former Budapest Sportcsarnok, Iron Maiden has been to Hungary 13 times. Their last show in Hungary was at the VOLT Festival in Sopron in 2018.

Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris told Hungarian fans that the band is grateful for the opportunity to return to Budapest and they are really looking forward to bring Legacy show to Hungary and meet their fans again.
